We are a very small family of 7 (4 humans, a small dog, a cat and a crazy rabbit), which are focused on family life, gathering with other families, taking our little ones to meetings and playgrounds. We obviously love animals and nature, specially the beach. Both parents we work in Gibraltar (Matt is a construction Manager, and I work in the Gambling Industry in Business Development). Edith is a very sensitive and mature 7 years old, while Mateo is nearly 5, a bit wild boy but very loyal and sweet. They play independently very well and enjoy playgrounds and free play.
The schedule to be with my little ones will be helping for an hour before school run (they take the bus outside our door at 8.45AM), picking them up from the bus stop at 3PM and spend some quality time with them until either Matt or me arrive home (sometimes 5PM sometimes 6.30PM). Evenings and weekends off. During summer time, it is a bit different, you would walk Edie and Mateo to the summer camp (they need to be there at 9AM) and pick them up at 2PM, have some lunch and wait for us to get home. We expect you to cook some basic meals (pasta, rice, boiled potatoes, steamed vegetables, some grilled meat, etc) but the main focus will be Edie and Mateo, keeping them safe, help them clean and organise their spaces and entertained with no tv or devices. We have plenty of games, toys, books, puzzles, plus materials to use with imagination. They play independently but you would have to offer the games and interfere a bit if needed or if they get bored. We offer a private room obviously, but there is only one bathroom to share so we expect you to make your room clean and ventilated and clean the bathroom every other week. Also, some help around the house is expected, basically because we will be sharing the same spaces (especially with the washing up and putting all away, sweeping and taking rubbish out), but nothing like ironing or floor moping. We expect some flexibility from the Au pair as well, in terms of babysitting. But this will always be agreed beforehand and quite exceptionally.
