There is a nice playground right in front of our house and a a jungle gym even in our living room – and we could not live without since our three little sons (1, 3 and 4 years) just need to move: They love to climb, to run, to jump and to laugh – they are funny, joyful and very, very energetic little guys. All of them go to nursery/day care. My husband works as a software engineer and I am a freelance journalist (and work mostly at home). We live in Emmendingen in the South-West of Germany, 15 minutes from the popular university town Freiburg. Emmendingen is close to the Black Forest – a beautyful region where many people spend their holidays :) You can also travel to Switzerland and France in less than an hour. My husband spent a highschool year in the U.S. and I was Au pair in France after school. I also lived in Brussels for more than four years – so we're not only open-minded and speaking English and French, but are also used to live with people from different cultures.
We are looking for an Au pair to help us with our three little sons (1, 3 and 4 years old) – when they are not in nursery/day care. This means we would need your support mainly in the early morning when getting them ready and bringing them to the child care centres and in the afternoon and evening (until approx. 18:30) on some weekdays. You should be willing to play with our sons inside or outside the house or to go to one of the three playgrounds nearby with them. We would need you to do babysitting once or twice a week in the evening. And finally, we'd like you to help us with chores – tidying up, hoovering and laundry folding e.g. (approx. 3 to 5 hours a week). In total, we need your support for about 20 to 25 hours a week. In your spare time, you're free to attend language courses (which we will support with 50€ per month), to do sports, to meet people, to travel and explore the Black Forest for example – whatever you like. Of course, you'll have your own room (with a balcony); you'll share the bathroom with the kids – and there is a bicycle for you. You'll have free WIFI access in our house and we'll pay the usual pocket money in Germany which is 260 euro per month.
