Querido au pair Hello, my name's Isabel. I'm Spanish and a secondary school teacher. My husband, Jonathan, is English. He's a university teacher and film journalist who's been in Spain for a long time. We speak both Spanish and English at home. Our children are Marco (13), who is a student at the German School in Madrid, and Laura (10) who is also going to enter the German school in September. Marco has been in the school for nearly three years so he speaks some German already, while Laura only speaks a little bit. They are both well-behaved and responsible, though lively like all children. Marco really likes films and computer things, while Laura's passion is dance.
If you came to be an au pair with us, your job would be to speak German with the children and to help them with their homework, specially with German and Science subjects (Maths and Physics). Are you good at these subjects? Marco will be in year 8 and Laura will be in year 5. The timetable would basically be in the afternoons when school was over (16:00/17:00 pm. to 21:00 pm. from Monday to Friday) and part of the weekends (one or half day of the weekend, the other will be free for you). You will not have to do any housework, except tidy and clean your own bedroom and the normal collective activities of the family (keep the house tidy and clean, lay and tidy the table after meals, etc.) Your weekly payment will be 80 euros per week, plus the public transport expenses. The house is big and your bedroom is quite independent (different floor) and spacious. We are very friendly and used to living with different people from different cultures.
