Hello, we are a family of 4 - my husband and I and our two children, Elliot (4.5yrs) and Gemma (2.5 yrs). We love animals and have a dog, Benji, who is very much a part of the family. We also have a cat, chickens, fish, and little Hermit Crabs. We live in the Blue Mountains area...1hour away from Sydney in a town called Springwood, where you can find everything you need; shops, restaurants & bars, banks, post office, etc. There is also a train station on the direct line into Sydney. The Blue Mountains area is famous for its scenic beauty, natural parks, and tourist attractions. We lead a relaxed lifestyle based on family and work. Both my husband and I work full time in demanding jobs. We are looking for someone to be a part of our family and to help with the care of our children and pets and some household chores. Of course we are looking for someone who enjoys caring for children, but also someone that is responsible, reliable, and confident in making their way in the world. In return we can offer room and board in your own private studio as well as a weekly wage, which is negotiable.
The main duty of our au pair will be to help care for our children. We like to think of our au pair as acting like a "big sister" to both Elliot and Gemma. Next year our children will attend either school or childcare 3 days a week so there will be at least 2 days a week that the au pair will have to care for our children all day while my husband and I are at work. In addition we will ask for one night of babysitting per week and to assist with preparing meals and activities for the children after school or day care. We also expect that our au pair will assist with basic house work such as tidying up after the children, laundry, and general cleaning.
