Dear au pair, Hi there! Are you the one we are looking for? Would you love to look after two young boys? Are you active, flexible and want to make a difference for two kids? Would you like to discover the beautiful city of Amsterdam? Then this is your chance to have a lovely experience... We are a busy family of four - the dad, Jay, mum Petra, Sonny (3) and Jax (1). We live in the centre of Amsterdam, only a 15 minute cycle from Central train station. Our neighbourhood is quiet and safe, and we live in a two-storey ground floor apartment in the West side of the city centre (De Baarsjes). You will have your own room on the ground floor, with space to store your belongings, and you will also have use of our garden house on the days when you are not working, or in your free evenings. There, you will have a TV, a microwave/oven, a fridge and a kettle. We will also provide all of your food, WIFI, and a bathroom with a shower. We are an active, outgoing family, and would love someone with similar qualities to join us and to take care of our children. We are bilingual family, Dutch-English. We love seeing family and friends, having dinners, going to gigs etc. Besides that we're active in a sporty way wich probably why our little boys are also quite energetic! :) Jay works in Amsterdam, running his own business. Petra coaches preschool teachers all around the city. Sonny will be 3 years old in October. He is an active, chatty little boy (he speaks both Dutch and English). What we expect As our au pair, you will be responsible for the children for 3 full days a week. During this time you will be expected to talk and play with the children. Sonny goes to preschool on weekdays, from 12-3:30pm, so during this time you would be responsible only for Jax, who has an afternoon sleep around this time. There are plenty of parks nearby to keep them entertained when the weather is nice, and there is also an indoor play area for rainy days. We would also ask that you are able to babysit on two mornings/evenings a week so that Jay and Petra can have some time to do things when they are not working! We would like for you to cook simple, healthy meals on your working days (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) for the whole family, and that you help to keep the house clean and tidy (wiping surfaces, tidying away toys, stacking the dishwasher, vacuuming). We do have a cleaning lady who comes once a week, so only light domestic duties are needed.
