We live next to a park that has swimming, tennis, basketball in the Summer. In the winter there is ice skating. Concord is a small city, it is safe, people are friendly and have time to talk. You can get to places by walking or bicycle. There is an extra bicycle that can be used by you. The house has washing machine, and dishwasher. It is about a mile from downtown, which is the state capital, where there is a main street, historic buildings, theater, music events and performances. Our life style is calm, active, enjoy reading books and the food we eat is healthy. My work is in Boston about an hour away. Sometimes I can work from home so can be available when needed. There is upcoming travel to New York City planned. There may also be travel around the US. Having a drivers license is not necessary but is a plus.
You will be helping with a baby girl of five months. She is healthy, happy and learning physical coordination and making sounds. The other day she was making "mmmmmm" sounds for a long time. We started to worry, wondering if the hospital made a mistake in giving us a baby cow. In any case, we are not planning on returning her. A cow Halloween costume might be in the not so distant future! The schedule will vary. The ideal au pair is interested in biking to pick up vegetables from the farmer's market, can help with shopping, cooking and house related tasks. We know that there is no perfect parenting so your are not expected to know everything. I have lived in other countries and traveled so understand how much there is to learn in a new culture. It would be great for the baby to be exposed to another language.
