Our family consists of mum (Becky), dad (Callum), our daughter Ella who is 2.5y and Zachary who will be 1 in August, you will mainly look after Ella and only occasionally Zachary as Becky is home with him or he is with his nanny. Callum works full time and Becky works 3 days a week, including Saturday and we are looking for a new au pair (to start ASAP) to be a big sister to the children. We live in a large modern house (all mod cons and wifi) with a garden in Tooting, South West London with fantastic transport links. You will have a large double bedroom and share the bathroom with the kids. Tooting is very multi cultural and great place to live, you have everything you need on your doorstep including a fantastic English school, plus 2 great parks close by, including a lido (outdoors swimming pool). There is a large au pair community here and plenty of young families to connect with. Life is very busy and noisy with 2 young children, but its also full of laughter and I am very involved in my children's day to day life so together we will find a balance.
We want the new au pair to become part of our family, learn our language and to love our kids and be happy to help me, this will include taking Ella to and from nursery, taking her (and sometimes Zachary) out in the afternoon to fun activities. Bed and bath time help too. I'd like the au pair to help with the cooking, laundry, loading / unloading the dishwasher, wiping the kitchen surface etc and tidying toys away - very simple tasks. We also employ a cleaner who comes every 2 weeks. Ella goes to nursery 4 mornings a week in term time and Zachary goes to the nanny 2 days a week, when Becky is at work. You be required to work Monday - Wednesday, Friday and also Saturday morning, you will have Thursday, Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday off, so in total around 30-35 hours a week. We would like occasional babysitting. We are looking for someone who can stay a minimum of 9 months otherwise it can be too disruptive for the children to keep changing. You will love babies and toddlers, be happy to change nappies, deal with toddlers and their ever changing behaviour which includes tantrums... its all part of growing up and expressing themselves. Ella has a very spirited personality, she has lots of energy and enjoys various activities and Zachary is a very smiley chilled baby who is trying to walk!! It is very important to us that the au pair loves young children and has experience of being with them, we need someone who has lots of patience, is kind, loving and caring.
