Hi! We are a busy family based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, which is 1 hour from London by train. We are also just 15 minutes from the beach at Brighton, which is a fantastic town with lots of activities, English schools and nightclubs! The train station is just a 10 minute walk from our house, my wife walks there every day to go to work in London. You will find us very easy going, we don't ask much compared to some families and you will have lots of free time every evening and every weekend too. If you have any questions, please get in touch, we would love to hear from you! My wife (who is Italian, from Savona in Liguria) works normal office hours in London while I work days, nights and weekends at London Gatwick Airport. My working hours mean that I am around during the week sometimes, while my wife leaves for work at 06:30 and gets home at 18:10. This is why we need someone happy to get up early! The children are fantastic, very busy, demanding, loving, funny, strong minded and yes, they do argue sometimes! Francesca is 12 years old and loves dancing, gymnastics, and being creative with her drawings. Harry is 10 years old and is a typical boy who loves cars, trucks, planes, and being noisy!
Ideally we would like someone who is outgoing, who can think independently with a positive attitude, and childcare experience and/or qualifications. We need you to be awake by 06:30, as the children normally wake up around that time. You will be required to make the children breakfast, make sure they are washed and dressed and prepare the school bags. Francesca generally walks to school by herself, while you will need to accompany Harry to his school and leave by at 08:25. School then finishes at 15:15 although some days the children have after school clubs such as netball, or Youth Club. Some of these are at school, some near the town centre which is just a few minutes' walk from the school. At home, you will need to wash the lunch boxes, then prepare the children's dinner around 17:00 and help them to have a shower around 18:00. During the day, you can attend English school if you wish. This is a good idea to enable you to meet new friends! We would like you to do some light housework during the day, such as vacuuming the house, dusting, and normally one load of washing every other day. Every evening and weekend is your time to do as you wish. We may require the occasional evening babysitting once a month but we can discuss that when you are here!
