I am a single parent, with identical twin boys, aged 10. My older two children have left home, so it is just the three of us, plus three cats. I work in mental health and also write. I work three days per week, for twelve hour shifts.(from 8.30am - 8.30pm) I am also studying and writing a book. I am British, although I am of European heritage, and I was brought up in the Italian culture as a child. I am an atheist, although in my family we have had orthodox, catholic and jewish religions. I respect peoples' right to have religious freedom. I have liberal views, and my eldest child, is a transgender woman. I would need someone to be open minded to that, as my daughter will visit. I am looking for someone that can cook a mediterranean diet. Someone whom has a positive outlook and is reliable, yet fun. Someone whom would be happy to live informally in a small household. Also, someone whom would be happy to educate the twins (well, us all!) with their culture and food. (we love food). Must love cats as well!
I would need the au pair to help with the twins three days a week, when I am working for twelve hour shift on these days. They are not the same days of the week, however I do have a schedule until July 2018, so it is easy to plan. I would need the au pair to make the twins breakfast and take them to school. Pick them up from school, bring them home. Give them a snack, ensure they did their homework and cook them an evening meal. Supervise bathtime and ensure they were in bed by 8.30pm. If my day of work fell on a weekend, an altogether more relaxed approach. Make breakfast, take the twins out, or for a walk, or play with them at home. Make lunch, again an afternoon activity, make supper. They stay up late at the weekend until 9.30pm on friday and saturday nights. Otherwise I would only need one or maybe two evenings a week babysitting. Some help with a laundry, or some errands on the days I am working, would be great, and light housework. Otherwise, the time is for the au pair to study and socialise and to just generally be involved with family life.
