We would like to invite you to join our family as an Au-pair. We are an English speaking family who are quite traditional in where and how we live. Henry (the dad) is an Engineer who works abroad most of the time. May (the mum) is a part time researcher in Economics at the University of Aberdeen. Harriet (daughter) is 6 years old, Henry (son) is 5 years old and Harry (son) is 15 months old. We live in Westhill, Scotland. Harriet and Henry attend primary school from Monday to Friday (8:50am to 3:15pm). They also attend swimming lessons, football and gymnastics. Harry attends playgroup one morning per week and stays at home during the rest of the week.
Your duties will include taking care of Harry at home during the day when Harriet and Henry are in school and I am at work, giving him food, changing his nappies when necessary, making sure that time is spent supervising, teaching and playing with him. You would also required to occasionally take the kids out for walks and to the local park, assist them during meal times, and check that they are not watching too much television. In addition to this, you'll be required to keep the house tidy when caring for the kids (as we do ourselves when we are at home), making sure toys are not lying around and vacuuming where necessary. You will have your own bedroom with a double bed and bedding, a wardrobe, a flat screen TV with Sky box and you will share the family bathroom with the children. As a family, we normally eat together, as such we expect you eat together with the family. Provision will be made for variety of food for you. Hopefully, You will learn our culture, and language (if you're not very good with your English) and the traditional Scottish way of life.
