Dear au pair, We are a friendly, busy and professional working family from a small Village called Brampton in Huntingdon Cambridgeshire. Our family consists of myself Charlotte 32 years old my job as an Information Computer Tech, Shaun 36 who is a Physical Training Instructor and our son Sebastian who is 3 (4 in November) and our dogs Narla & Simba (spaniels) We currently have a Spanish Au pair called Guissell who has been with us for 1 year, Spanish Au pair before her called Blanca she was with us for 1.5 years. Both who have made very strong relationship with all our family and a big sister to Sebastian. We live in a 4 bedroom house in Brampton Village which is 10 mins from a small town called Huntingdon; the next large city is Cambridge and Peterborough, this is 30 minutes away by car/bus. We are about 1 hour from London in a car and it would take about 1hr40 on a train. Shaun and I are both full time workers, Shaun works away in the week and comes home on a Friday. (So having adult company in the house would be nice). I work in Wyton which is a 15 min drive from home. Sebastian is 3.5 years old (4 in November), Shaun also has 2 daughters, Isabelle who is 11 and Tamzin who is 9 they both live full time with there mother, However they stay at ours most weekends and in the school holidays. We may require you to help with them on days we have to go into work. (This wouldn't be very often) Our dog Narla is a 3 year old Spaniel dog she is a very loving and friendly dog and is a close member of our family. We also have Simba who is 1 years old and is a cocker spaniel
A Sample Daily Week Schedule - Guide only! *Mornings: Wake at 7am to get yourself dressed, your breakfast ready for Sebastian who usually wakes around 07:30. (This gives me time to get myself dressed for work) * Make Sebastian’s breakfast * Help Sebastian get dressed and washed, brush his teeth. * Take him to nursery 8am (This will be every morning 8am-1300, this could change slightly) * Return home and clean EXAMPLES ONLY Job of the day Hoover whole house Wash kitchen floor Clear dining table/put Washing up pots/plates in Dishwasher Empty household bin Tidy house generally Make the beds, Yours + Sebby’s Putting toys away (with Sebby if possible) Laundry on if needed * Pick Sebastian up at 12 *Lunchtime: Make Sebastian lunch *Afternoon: Learn and Play time – If the weather is nice go out for walks go to the park etc, Learning English and Spanish (or your native language) Play and Learn, baking, art + crafts etc *Evenings: Evening family meal we can all take part help each other cook. * Your Day ends *18:30 – Sebastian - Bath / Ready for bed (You will only do if I’m not home or if I am busy) * 19:30 – Sebastian – Bed time – Story (You will only do if I’m not home or if I am busy) * You will have to work some weekends but will get most off as my work pattern sometimes falls over a weekend. However if Shaun is home you will be off. If you work a weekend you would get your days back in the week. Driving isn't essential however there will be a car available to use if I’m not You will have your own bedroom, with a TV and WIFI available. Your pocket money will be £70 pw. We will buy all the food and you’re welcome to use our toiletries etc We also have things like Hair Dryers/ straighteners and an Iron so you wouldn't have to bring these if you didn't want to. (Saves on baggage allowance) House work: I like to keep the house as clean as possible I know that is hard when playing with children. However I would need you to help me around the house with daily things like hovering, polishing, cleaning kitchen and empty bins, cooking/baking etc but we can do that together as a team and help each other out.
