Dynamic 80 year old, cultured, writer/historian. Fluent French speaker plus Italian and Spanish (rusty!) Boutique with designer knitting, own books - keen gardener, social life, active in Catholic church although Anglican - much traveled. Involved with local organisations. Husband has Alzheimer's disease.
I am NOT looking for a nurse/carer. We are well looked after by the French state. Reading, in French or English, to my husband is important - plus taking him out in a wheel-chair. We live in the middle of the town. Would like some help in house (not arduous) cooking sometimes if candidate likes it - car driver essential (Citroen 5 brake). 'Perfect' candidate would be a student (could be British, American or Australian) who has finished his/her degree, and wishes to perfect their French through total immersion, acquire French culture, and, possibly somebody who is thinking of leaving UK after Brexit and wants experience of French life.
