Introduction personnelle
Dear Future Host Family,
My name is Annie Wohlfart, I am 19 years old, and I come from Austria. This year, I successfully graduated from high school by completing my Austrian Matura. Before starting my studies in Dentistry next year, I would love to spend a few months in Spain to improve my Spanish, experience a new culture, and become part of a welcoming host family.
I have chosen to become an au pair because I believe it is one of the most meaningful ways to experience another country. Rather than simply travelling as a tourist, I want to become part of everyday family life, learn about Spanish traditions and culture from the inside, and create genuine connections with the people around me. I also enjoy spending time with children and believe that caring for them is a wonderful opportunity to learn from one another. I hope to support your family in your daily life while creating happy memories together.
Although I have not yet worked as a professional babysitter or au pair, I have often spent time with young children, playing with them, helping to care for them, and keeping them entertained. Being around children brings me a lot of joy, and I am excited to take on more responsibility while gaining valuable experience.
My motivation for living in Spain is very strong. I have visited Spain several times, both on holidays and on language trips, and every time I fell even more in love with the country, its people, and its culture. During my language courses, I made wonderful friends, and these experiences inspired me to return for a longer stay. My biggest goal is to improve my Spanish by speaking it every day until I become fluent. I want to experience everyday life in Spain, discover new places, learn more about the culture, and truly become part of a Spanish family.
I would describe myself as an open-minded, responsible, friendly, and reliable person who enjoys new challenges. Although I am an only child, I have always had a great connection with children and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. I am patient, creative, and active. In my free time, I enjoy sports, drawing, arts and crafts, listening to music, travelling, and spending time with my family and friends. I also grew up with dogs, so I feel very comfortable around animals and would be happy to help care for pets as well.
One of the reasons I want to become an au pair is that I believe this experience will help me grow as a person. Living abroad, adapting to a new culture, and becoming part of another family will teach me independence, responsibility, communication, and empathy. These are qualities that will also help me in my future career, as I plan to study Dentistry next year. Working with children is a wonderful way to develop patience and interpersonal skills, which are essential for becoming a caring dentist.
I speak German and Croatian as my native languages, I am fluent in English, and I currently have a B1/B2 level of Spanish, which I am eager to improve during my stay. I am organized, flexible, and always willing to learn something new.
My family means a great deal to me, and they fully support my decision to spend several months in Spain. After my au pair stay, I will return to Austria to study Dentistry. I hope this experience will not only improve my Spanish but also help me become more independent, confident, and open-minded. One of my biggest dreams is to return to Spain in the future as an Erasmus student and study Dentistry in Spanish.
I am looking for a host family where I will be welcomed not only as an au pair but also as a member of the family. In return, I promise to support you in your daily life, care for your children with kindness and responsibility, and share many happy moments together.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter. I would be delighted to get to know you and your family, and I hope to hear from you soon!
Kind regards,
Annie Wohlfart
