Letter to the family Dear Host Family, My name is Juliette, I’m 18 and currently studying biomedicine at the University of Melbourne. I’ve just finished my first semester, but before diving too deep into something like medicine, I want to take some time to step back, experience something different, and grow in ways that uni can’t really offer. Becoming an au pair feels like the perfect chance to do that. I’ve always loved being around kids and helping out in family life — I grew up in a big family of seven, and now that my siblings have all moved out, I honestly miss the everyday noise and connection. I’d love to be part of that again, even if it’s in someone else’s home across the world. I’m a warm, reliable, and easygoing person who genuinely enjoys being helpful. I’ve volunteered with children through SUFM in Portland, running games and activities, and I enjoy getting involved — whether that’s making dinner, playing outside, or helping with homework.
