Introduction personnelle

I want to become an au pair simply because it combines two passions of mine: caring for children and learning languages. I’ve looked after my nieces and the kids at my church for years, and I love turning everyday moments like cooking or walking to school into fun learning experiences. Living with a host family will let me practice the language far beyond the classroom while sharing my Kenyan culture through stories, music and cooking. During my stay I hope to be a calm, dependable big sister-figure: helping with homework, introducing simple Swahili songs, and keeping the children active outdoors. I’m also prepared for the hard parts like homesickness and adapting to new house rules and I’m eager to face them because they’ll make me more adaptable and independent. When I return home after twelve months, I plan to resume my diploma in nursing Assistant and apply for a position at a children’s hospital. The language skills, intercultural awareness and first-hand childcare experience I’ll gain as an au pair will make me far more effective at comforting and engaging young patients from diverse backgrounds.
