Introduction personnelle
Hi!
My name is Ellen and I’m a 21 years old girl that lives in Gothenburg in Sweden. I graduated from gymnasium 1,5 years ago and I have been traveling a lot since. Last year I went on a backpacking trip all over Asia for 5 months, which was one of the best things I have experienced in my life. I have also worked abroad in Denmark at a camping site two summers in a row. So I can’t wait for my next adventure.
I live with my mother and my sister. We live in a house close to Gothenburg centrum and I have lived here my entire life. I like it here but I feel like I’m ready to explore other parts of the world.
I've had experience working with children in various capacities. When I was younger, I owned a horse, and during the summers, they held riding camps for children ages 6-12, where I assisted. I've worked at a kindergarten for children aged 1-5 years old for 3 weeks. I played with them, organized activities indoors and outdoors, and helped them to eat.
I've also gained experience from babysitting. I looked after my mom's friend's son John when he was between 3-5 years old, at different times. We used to go to the playground and play board games. Additionally, I cared for one girl Freya (5-7) and her younger brother Joel (1-2) for a period of two years. They enjoyed painting, so I did that a lot with them. I also made them snacks and comforted them.
When I worked at the camping site in Denmark I helped with kids activities, like organizing birthday parties for the camp mascot.
I also have other job experiences such as one summer job at a restaurant. I got to make food, clean the kitchen and serve food. The following summer I worked at a nursing home, focusing on socializing with the older people. After graduating I wanted to try something different and I decided to work abroad. I got a job at a restaurant on a camping site in Denmark. At first it was a bit challenging working in a different country having to speak english, but i absolutely loved it. After the summer I worked in a sushi restaurant and a small shop. Then, I returned to the same job and spent another summer in Denmark working on the camping.
I would describe myself as an energetic person with a positive attitude. You will rarely see me without a smile on my face. When I’m doing something, I go all in for it, and I want everything I do to be as good as possible.
In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my friend, going on road trips, concerts, or having a chill movie night together. Being active is important to me; I often go to the gym, and I recently started dancing. I also really enjoy a calm walk in nature with some music or a good podcast in my headphones.
After traveling Asia, I have a strong desire to explore more of the world, and Australia has always been one of my dream destinations. I can’t imagine a better job than taking care of children while experiencing a new culture and seeing new places.
It was actually one of my friends that gave me the idea to become an au pair. She wanted to work as an au pair in New Zealand and when she told me about the job and what it offers I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I also want to improve my language skills and I think this is a good opportunity to grow as a person and challenge myself.
I look forward to the possibility of becoming a part of your family and sharing new experiences together. Thank you for reading my letter. I hope I get to see you in reality.
Yours sincerely, Ellen :)
