January is the perfect month for resolutions. You know… setting that goals that help you organise your entire life. But there is also an important aspect that parents should consider. Not only the adults should set their goals, but also children. However, is you want to help your little ones setting their goals, here a few pieces of advice.
First step: explain your kids what they have to do
Explain them which a goal really means. It is more difficult than you imagine, when you have to talk with the little ones. Also, you should know how to explain them the difference between setting a goal and failing to achieve one. Teaching your children to set real goals is an important aspect that parents should not ignore.
Second step: identify the purpose of any goal that you set
Let’s suppose that your children decide to travel more. Your duty is to help them understand that it is not just a matter of words. Travelling more implies benefits like gaining experience and knowledge about a new place or even a new culture. Another good idea is taking up dancing hours.
Third step: encourage them when they feel lost
If one of your kids’ goal is to give up eating so many sweets, but they cannot get rid of this bad habit, you should not make them feel bad about it. On the contrary, encourage them to keep working and working until they get the best results.
Last but not least: writing all the down
Why? Well, the statistics indicates that by wring down your personal resolutions, children are 42% more likely to achieve them. Thus, the best thing that you can do is buying a cute notebook for your children and offering it as a support for their thoughts and goals. On the other hand, if they are not able to write yet, you can do that for them.
