Hello, We are a relaxed but busy family that are looking for an Au Pair that can both help support us whenever necessary and also be part of our fun loving family. We have a beautiful, imaginative, intelligent and fun loving little 5 year old boy, who has just started school. He is very loving and loyal. He loves to play in an interactive way so any Au Pair will need to be prepared for an active but fun role. We live near Rugby in Warwickshire. Everyday life for our son is fairly regimented as he is at school. He also has an after school Martial Arts class on a Monday. Every day life for my wife and I is anything but regimented. My work has me travelling often or working from home, without any set routine. My wife works in Oxford which means a long commute 3 or 4 days a week else working from home. Whilst these days are usually the same, it may change on some weeks. My wife is a fluent Spanish and German speaker.
Above all we need someone prepared to be flexible. It is important to remember that this role is a part-time job and not just a holiday with chores! Someone that accepts that hard work and initiative will be rewarded with equal amounts of flexibility, appreciation and generosity. Whilst we will always attempt to define a routine, it will never be set in stone. Typically my son starts his morning routine with breakfast from 7:30 and has to be at school no later than 8:45, although school is only a 5 minute journey from our home. During the current school year, he finishes at 15:30 and returns home where he would do his homework, have dinner, play and then start a bed time routine around 6:30 to be in bed by 7:30. As previously stated, how much time my wife and I can give to assist with or perform the pre/after school routine will differ every day. We would also look to perform some household tasks, including one 'proper' clean of the house each week, washing and ironing of clothes. As a member of the family there is also consideration to the general shared tasks such as filling the dishwasher, keeping the house tidy etc. We have a 10 year old Labradoodle dog, who will need feeding twice a day. She is friendly but bouncy, so you will have to be comfortable with dogs. In return, we will provide a competitive salary, your own room in a separate downstairs space in the house to allow you privacy. You will have access to the main bathroom, which is only occasionally shared with our son. The room comes with a double bed, appropriate furniture and Sky Q TV with access to all Sky TV channels. You will have access to a small car, that is for the Au Pairs sole use. It will be used to transport our son to school etc but is also available for a reasonable degree of personal use. During the weekly shop we will attempt to accommodate your dietary and culinary requirements as long as they are reasonable. We provide a mobile phone for work related use. We offer 20 days paid holiday per year and Bank Holidays. We may also choose to offer to take the Au Pair on foreign holidays with us.
