Personal introduction

We look forward to welcoming you to our family. Our family is Chris (47), Catherine (37), Maria (2) and Sarah (5). Both Catherine and Chris were born in and grew up in South England and moved to our current house 5 years ago. We like gardening, meeting with friends and playing with the children. Catherine likes to cook and bake food from around the world. Catherine is a doctor and Chris is a physiotherapist. Sarah is a sweet, gentle, chatty, happy natured little girl. She enjoys reading books, colouring, playing in the garden with balls and bubbles and going to the park. She goes to swimming, dancing, gymnastics and French clubs and her new favourite – Rainbows. She is very petite and very friendly. She likes cuddles. Maria is also friendly but shyer than her big sister – she takes a while to get to know people but once she knows you she likes to be your best friend. She loves reading books, playing with her little friends, cooking and giggling with her big sister. She also goes to French club and knows some French words. She enjoys swimming and dancing. We live in a detached 4 bedrooomed property with a large garden. You would have your own large room with ensuite (bath and shower) and wifi. Castle Donington is a large village/town very close to East Midlands airport which would make trips home for the weekend very easy. Castle Donington has 8 pubs, 6 restaurants and several private gyms. There are community centres and shops in the village. There are language schools in Derby and Nottingham which can be reached in about 20minutes. See http://www.aboutmyare

The Au pair's job

We would ask you to drop off Sarah and Maria at school and nursery 3 days a week and collect on two days. On the days where you drop the girls off at school we would like you to help Dad get the children up, dressed and give them their breakfast before leaving for school at 8:20. For two evenings you would take the girls home from school, prepare and give them their dinner, read with them and play games until we arrive back at around 6. We would like you to assist with light domestic work such as washing up, vacuuming and hanging out the washing, this may be an hour or so each day. You would need to keep the house tidy day to day but we also have a cleaner for the heavier work twice a week. You would have 2 full days where you do not need to look after the children during the week (Wednesday and Thursday). You would have the majority of weekends free. If you have a driving licence we would lend you a car to use in the evenings and weekends depending on the cost of insurance (which would depend on your driving record). We are happy to provide a mobile phone and a flight home at Christmas. We are a Christian family and attend church but would welcome you from whatever background or religion or no religion. We have no pets. We regularly travel around Britain and would invite you to travel with us to see the sights. We have both lived and worked abroad so can understand some of the potential difficulties facing someone new to the country. We will do our best to welcome you into our family and community.
