Hi, we are a family of 5 people. Dad (Nicola, 39 yo) Mum (Arianna, 37 yo) and 3 little girls: Elena (7 yo), Jasmine (4 yo) and Gioia (2 yo). And we have also a cat, Luna (4 yo). Elena goes to school, Jasmine to pre-school and Gioia to Kindergarten. We live beside Arianna's parents' place and they helps a lot. However, Arianna's brothers had the second baby and grandparents are quite busy with them. We are a normal family with humble origin. We try to keep our kids busy with healthy activities, outdoor and indoor. However Dad and Mum but both work (mum part time), and we realize we need some help in managing our kids... Kids are quite easy actually, but we'd like to offer more attentions and avoid to get too much stressed as parents. Moreover, we really think that learning English (and other languages) is a key aspect for their life. We try get them watching TV programs in English, as well as to get them exposed as much as possible to English native speakers. That's why we are looking for a native English speaker "big sister" (this is how we defined the "au pair" to the kids) :). In the weekend we like to organize family activities enjoying the time together. Short walks, short trips, visit to friends and grandparents. During summer dad likes taking care of garden too... Nicola & Arianna
Three kids so young and both parents working, is a pretty stressful situation :). We do need help! :) Elena started School 2 weeks ago, so we are still trying to find a balance. We expect our "au pair" (also called "big sister" :) ) has to help when the kids are back to School. This is the most critical time for us. - picking them up - eventually cook or prepare some food - entertain kids with simple activities - maybe helping loading dishwasher or washing machine - join our family and being part of it Maybe, as exceptional situation, we may need some help also bringing the kids to bed. This leave the first part of the day completely free to take Italian lessons (if desired), travels around, practise language, enjoy the house and the environment , relax, practise sports, sleep ? ... We expect our "Big sister" speaks English with the Kids as much as possible. A basic knowledge of Italian can be useful for handling extreme situations... Both Dad an mum speak a reasonable good English, but we are more than happy to speak Italian all the time if desired - this is an opportunity for the "au pair" to practise it. The kids are quite easy, but we get really stressed in managing them. So we believe that getting some help will decrease the stress level, increase our quality of life. At the same time, is an extremely good opportunity for our kids to interact with a native English speaker… and meet new people that we hope they can build a trustable relationship with. As family, we like to meet people, especially from different culture, and share experiences. We like a lot food (and cooking...). We are excited and looking forward this experience, as it'll be quite interesting as parents also. Our "Big sister" can count of our reliability and hospitality. We do understand this experience is bringing and exchanging value on both directions, and we are looking forward to listen to our candidate "big sister" needs! Nicola & Arianna
