Personal introduction

I, Precious, am a high school teacher and Mark is a children’s Nursery teacher and a supermarket driver, and studying an Early Years foundation degree. My parents originate from Nigeria and Mark’s parents are English, but we are English nationals and we speak English as our home language. We are both in our very early 30s and like to go out and socialise when we can. We live with our little boy Logan and baby girl Layla Evans. Logan was born in August 2013, 7 weeks premature but is a strong and happy toddler. Layla was born on 21st January 2015 and is beautiful and smart just like her brother. We live in a 2 floor flat above shops in Eastcote. The flat is within walking distance of Eastcote train station and busstops. London transport is very easy to follow and there are lots of different schools in the neighbouring borough Harrow and our borough Hillingdon (which Eastcote is in). There are nearby language courses all less than 20 mins away by bus/train, I also have an English teacher friend who can come to the house and give 1-2-1 sessions at a very reasonable price. We will provide you with a single private bedroom with a window for your sole use. You will eat from the weekly family budget of food which is free, anything extra will need to be bought by you. In return we ask that you will look after and care for our beautiful baby girl and bouncing boy while we are at work. We would expect you to look after them from 7am-4.30/8.30-5.30 Monday-Friday and babysit at least 1 night on the weekend. You will have the evenings and weekends to yourself to read, watch tv, go to

The Au pair's job

We would not expect you to be our maid, however a general clean, hoover, washing of plates and light house duties would be expected each day. In regards to the children, you will need to wash their clothes, fold them away, take them to any doctor’s appointments, feed them, play with them, wash them, comfort them and love them and keep them safe like they were your own little brother and sister. As I am a teacher I will have lots of school holidays off work where you would not be expected to look after them and therefore you would be paid half-pay for the week as everything else will be provided. If you go back home for longer than 2 days however and you are not physically here, you will not be paid for that time. You would be expected to register yourself and pay for an English language course (if needed) to help yourself while you discover and learn the culture of London…and maybe even teach the children (and us) your language.
