Personal introduction

We are an English family living here in spain. We are super fun, love a good joke and are very active. We love to travel a lot and have friends and family all over the world. We love most sports, especially cricket, football, rugby, golf and almost all others! Skiing, fishing, surfing, cycling, Karting, playing card games, you name it we probably love to do it or try it out! -We are based here in Madrid in a smaller suburb called Pozuelo. The travel network is very good here and there are buses and metros all within close proximity to our house. We live very close to the British Council school where our son attends. There are a lot of spanish families who attend the school and the local town is very nice. There are two gyms in proximity and we do have a small pool in our garden and an outdoor one in the urbanization which is open in the summer months. There a few bars and cafes within walking distance with a local supermarket and also a small shopping centre a little further on. There is a very large park or forest nearby and you can easliy go for a walk or run direct from the house, with lovely views of the mountains and the country. However Madrid is only 10mins to drive direct (on a clear day) and you have all the beauty of the capital city. We have a large house and since our eldest daughter has left, we see that it is very empty without her and with 'Daddy' working away a lot. Joe (who is 9) goes to school every day from 9-4.35pm and usually has an after school sports activity and then would do his homework. We try to go to bed early and not follow the typical Spanis

The Au pair's job

We are looking for a big brother/ mentor for our son. Someone who will be able to help with his homework (following the English curriculum, so knowledge of this is important) He struggles with writing and his fine motor skills with writing and his emotions are suffering as he realises this is slowing him down compared to the others in his class. So someone who can also help his social skills and improve his behavior when things don't work out for him. We would love someone to be able to play cricket with him and sports and games etc, alongside guitar (he really wants to learn guitar). He also plays the drums and piano. He loves Hip Hop classes and most pop music too. We would require someone to be with Joe after school and at weekends when we are here. When you are with Joe we would expect you to make the most of the time and become his best mate or big brother type figure. During the day you would be free to do as you wish, either progress in your spanish or teach english for extra income (there is a lot of scope for that here and can pay well) We would offer you our home, food and a very welcome home and see this as a good opportunity for someone wishing to try living in another country. There is no fixed term and we are very flexible.
