We are Hanna, Jonathan, Emil, Teddy and Knalle (woof) a Swedish-Finnish family who have lived in the UK and US. We now live in London where Emil attends the friendly Swedish School. Emil loves dinosaurs and all kind of animals. We try to be generous to a fault but because we have hardcore jobs (eye surgeon and top lawyer) we need someone who is willing to work very hard and be robust. Looking after 2 kids is not easy - Jonathan has just spent 6 months on paternity leave but is going back to work in April. We have had 2 excellent au pairs with whom we still holiday even years after they left. Our first - Sofie- has just moved in again for a few months to get a quiet place to finish her studies. We have also had 2 bad experiences too which is upsetting and exhausting so getting the right family fit is key. We need someone who is tough and willing to work hard but with a smile. Jonte speaks Swedish and English to Emil and Teddy, Hanna speaks Finnish to him, and Hanna and Jonte speak English together - though Hanna is practicing her Swedish. Jonte is too stupid to learn Finnish he has realised. :-)
We have a full time cleaner and will try our best to make sure that you are not over-worked. However as we are very busy you basically have to help with Teddy our baby during the day and drop Emil off at school and collect him. We have a lovely 12 year old dog who doesn't walk very much and who requires very little care. He mostly sleeps. Our house is a lot of fun. We frequently travel abroad and have, until recent bad experiences, always included our au pairs to for instance the US, Switzerland and France. We will make sure that you feel appreciated and rewarded. As it is always emotional when someone leaves we would like you to stay for 12 months (or more if you want) as otherwise it is too hard for Emil.
