Personal introduction

We're an easy going but hard working family. We're very pro European culture and would want anyone who worked with us to really enjoy their time in Cambridge, whether studying English, seeing more of the country or making new friends etc. I work 4 days a week whilst my wife works full time (5 days a week). We are looking for someone who is proactive and trustworthy. We would like someone flexible with a positive attitude and someone who really loves children. We need someone who is happy to work hard for the busy times and is easy to get on with. We have three children; 7 year old girl; 4 year old boy and 2 year old girl. The kids are very happy little things. They are used to au pairs and nannys as we have always had them. They are warm and welcoming and each au pair has fallen in love with them, it is very sweet. They are healthy with no allergies or issues.

The Au pair's job

We need someone to be with the children, on duty, from 7am to get them ready for school, give them breakfast and take them to school and nursery. Then from 2.45pm - 7pm to collect them, play/do homework, prepare them dinner and get them ready for bed. On a Monday myself or my wife will be at home no later than 6.30pm. From Tuesday to Thursday usually one of us will be working from home and Friday is my non-working day. So the majority of the time, one of us will be available to help with school runs and then morning rush, but we do need someone who is proactive with lots of energy and enthusiasm. Our eldest goes to school, whilst the middle child goes to nursery 3 days a week. Our youngest daughter will need looking after full time, but is going to Nursery in September. The au pair would then need to tidy up after breakfast, tidy up toys and wash their clothes etc, but no heavy cleaning - just the children's things. After that she would be free to study English, relax, make friends, have fun! Weekends would also be free time. Right now we have a part time nanny so there will be help with the children who is leaving 15th July. There will be a few weeks of looking after the children full time and then we have some holiday time when the au pair can enjoy living in England and exploring the country. From September it will be back to a similar routine.
