Hello and thanks for considering us as your host family! We are a French-Finnish family living in Helsinki, Finland. We have 2 kids, a 4-year-old girl and a one-year-old boy (who is turning 2 in July). They are a lot of fun! She likes music, ballet, books and princess thingies. He is really active and always on the go. He loves dogs and fish and being outdoors. We speak Finnish, French and English at home. We are looking for an independent, reliable person, who is able to help out with our 2 children and the house. A warm heart and willingness to spend time with the kids is really important. We practice attachment parenting / positive parenting and would like the au pair to do the same. We are also hoping that you will share the house work with us, like you would with any other room mates. The weekly schedules vary a bit based on our work schedules etc. We are looking for someone who is flexible and able to tolerate a bit of uncertainty and also hard-working and reliable. Some days might be long but on the other hand it is possible for the au pair to get long weekends off and go explore the rest of the country. There are certain limitations: the kids have many dietary restrictions and the au pair must at least understand special diets. We don't use perfumes and are trying to avoid excess chemicals, fragrances etc, and expect the au pair to do the same. Smoking is not possible in any circumstances. We recycle, like to go to flea markets and try to avoid buying things, but that's where we fail often :D
