Dear au pair, Hello from our little gang :) We are 4 member Greek-Latvian family with 2 gorgeous girls (4 years and 5 1/2 years old). Guess who is Greek and who is Latvian! We are active, easy going, open minded people and will do our best to make your au pair experience great. We would like an au pair to come to our place with lots of love to children, to be prepared for a challenge and to be ready to have some great moments with us. And of course, it will be pleasure for us to learn about you, your culture and perhaps even your language. We will be happy to show you a part of Greece and our culture.
We expect from an au pair to be open minded person, patient as she will spend a lot of time with the girls, relaxed as we want her to be calm and enjoy her time with us, responsible and trust worth as she will take care of our biggest treasure - our children. When they stay at home, you will be the one taking care of them, when parents are not there, and here we are, talking about everything, starting with dressing them up or preparing meals for them and ending with putting diapers on the youngest for her night sleep, but do not get scared (!), its the most simple and yet most rewarding job anyone, who loves children, could do :) Also we would expect some light housework and some super-simple cooking for the girls. It's important for us that, if you can spent your time with our girls in a creative way. They both speak English very well for their age, so we would like you to focus on improving their English language and teach them new things, games, new words and meanings. We want you to keep them active and cheerful and also keep them away from the iPad and the laptop! Your typical schedule for working days will be from 7:30 to 8:00 while helping us prepare the girls for going to "school" and from 16:00 to 20:30 until they go to sleep, because both of us-parents we might come very late from our work. We will also need you for some few hours during weekends, but, we will try most of the weekend to be a free time for you. If for some reason the kindergarten is closed then your schedule might change accordingly. Driving license is almost necessary, because, sometimes you will have to drive the girls to or from the kinder-garden if grandma, who usually do this, is not available. Generally, we promise to take good care of our au pair and to take her out, when she wants to, as much as we can, because it is so important for us to know that our new family member is having good time. Nienke, our current au pair, is Dutch and she will leave at the end of May, few days after your arrival, and she is willing to share with you her experience of living here with us and you can even communicate with here before you finally decide to join our family. If you have any questions, you are very welcomed to write us.
