Dear Au pair we welcome you to our home in Iceland, We are a young hard working family that is in need of au pair for some help because of some increase in work (mommy has to work some now) and dad is a manager at the airport. We are looking for a house help that can take care of our 8 months old daughter while we are at work and some light housework. On some weekends to be a helping hand with both of them. Picking up our older daughter 3years old to the kindergarten on week days that is in a short walking distance around 5-10min. There will be good vacation or free days every week atleast 2-3 days. There will be an opportunity to see our beautiful country if you are interested. Mom is 26 and Dad is 31 - very easy going people that will treat you like our best friend We live in a small town called Keflavik, in a house with 3 rooms and 3 bathrooms, Dad works as a manager at the airport and mom is going to work in April we have two daughters Emma is 3 years old and Aria is 8months old ( was born july 2015) Emma is in kindergarten from 8-16 and Aria is at home, we need help with Aria so mom can work and sometimes get Emma from kindergarden thats is in 5 min walk. like we said above we are very easy going and we will treat our au pair like one of our family
Au pairs task would be taking care of Aria, when mom is in work like from 8 -5, 2-3 days in a week, and pick up Emma from kindergarten that is in 5 min walk, and do some light house chores (like put in the dishwasher and take out of it and just take up the toys after the girls and maybe vacuum), mom works every other weekend so if the au pair can help dad with the girls when mom works just for like 2-4 hours, the au pair gets at least 2-3 days free in a week, as we say above the au pair would be one of the family, Some Q&A - from when and for how long You need au pair ? - As soon as possible and 3-12months (12 is maximum in icelandic law) - in which city you live exactly ? - We live in Keflavík next to the airport. It is 30min drive to the capital Reykjavík. - what is your daily schedule now and how will look my work day? - Ruth is going to be working 2-2-3, meaning she works every other weekend and 2 or 3 days a week and Einar works all weekdays. - Your routine would be to stay with our 8months old Aria alone while i am at work - Pick also up our 3years old daughter from kindergarten which is in a 5min walk from our home (if bad weather we can pick her up) - So your working hour would be aroung 8 ½ hours - how many hours a week and which days are free ? - You would be getting 2-3 days a week free - We are not asking for you to work all day everyday - are there any chores ? - Some light house chores just cleaning/picking up after the kids. - how much pocket money ? - 10.000ISK per week or 40.000ISK per month like it says on aupairworld website. - how You imagine spending time together after my working hours ? - You would be one of us and we imagine to quickly become friends. We are young and very easy going. In the summer we will maybe travel some in iceland and also rent a summer house and ofcourse you would be with us. - what are your expectations for the new family member that is an au pair ? - Just to be her self and talk with us, not always go into her room and close her self off like she doesnt want to be here. Communication is the key to everything! - you cover the cost of arrival ? - In the regulation on info host countries stated on aupairworld website it says au pair pays her self but if you would be having trouble paying for the flight then we might help. Requirements are: Female age 18-25 (Icelandic law) From European union Can start as soon as possible and stay from 3-12months.
