We are a young family with two girls (3 & 1 yr). The girls are well-behaved, happy, relaxed, laugh a lot, and all together we have a lot of fun and enjoy life. We like reading, cooking, playing with the kids, being active and spend a lot of time outdoors and doing sports. We are also adventurous travel-addicts and ready to roam the world: For the next 1.5 years, we plan to live half the time at home in Zurich/Switzerland and for 2-3 months each in Reykjavik, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Dublin, and Barcelona. We look for a mature, reliable, independent, self-driven and easygoing au pair/nanny to join us for the entire time. We need you 3 days per week, rest of the time is free. As the girls do not have commitments (hobbies, friends, school) in the new countries, you have a lot of flexibility to explore each new place during your days with them. We are well connected to urban life and the outdoors: We live 10 minutes outside the city of Zurich/Switzerland, between the Lake of Zurich and a beautiful forest natural reserve area. Zurich is very international with a considerable English-speaking community, so even without German skills you will get to know many people. For very good reasons, Zurich also ranks top on the world`s list of cities with the highest quality of living. The mother works part time 3 days per week, mostly home office – we need your help on these days, and every few months for a whole week during mother`s business travels. We look for someone who is mature (over 21 years), reliable, independent, self-driven, pro-active, curious, adaptable to new environments and who enjoys finding new friends for themselves and the children in a new country. You will need to be organized and bring meaningful activities to the days with the kids. Ideally, you will explore new playgrounds and places to go with them, even research and join some local kid`s groups where possible. You will be in charge of healthy meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking. Some household help beyond that, but we mostly need you to spend time with the kids. Previous childcare experience is not a must, but we expect you to be highly motivated and able to learn fast. We expect you to assist us in creating a safe, stable, fun and encouraging environment for our girls, helping them to grow emotionally and intellectually. While we as parents are fluent in English, the girls currently speak German only. We are specifically looking for a native English speaker (native German speaker is the second preferred option) to expose the girls to the language over a longer period of time in a natural setting.
