My name is Debbie and I am seeking an au pair for my 5 year-old son, Jack. Along with my 89 year-old mother-in-law, we live in a lovely house in Catonsville, Maryland which is 15 minutes from Baltimore and about 45 minutes from Washington, DC. At the beginning of July, my husband and Jack’s father passed away suddenly so we find ourselves in need of your assistance! Jack is a wonderful child – energetic and kind, funny and smart and very, very outgoing. He just loves to make new friends and would love to share his love with you!
As our au pair, we’d like you to become a member of our family and accompany us on all our various adventures around town. Jack is entering kindergarten this year and attends school from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm, allowing you plenty of time to yourself for exploration, as well as to attend school. Your duties would include helping to get Jack ready for school each morning and then picking him up from school, playing with him inside our home or outside, taking him to after-school activities such as swimming lessons, soccer practice, etc. , preparing and eating dinner with him and then playtime until I return from work between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm. Occasionally, I might have to stay at work late, go into my office early or take short business trips (not overnight) so flexibility is a must; however, your time and especially school commitments will be treated with the utmost respect. Additionally, some very light housework, running errands may be requested on occasion. I think of this as “Mother’s assistant” position, including help with Jack’s laundry, lunches, clean up after dinner for yourself and Jack, empty dishwasher, etc….really act as a member of the family but most importantly love children!!!
