A loving and caring Japanese au pair wanted for 13 year old daughter (and a cute 9 year old dog)! **Since I work for the UN, we can sponsor your US Visa ** MUST have a Driver's License; Those with previous J-1 experience are welcome! We are looking for a native Japanese female au pair who can speak Japanese and help our daughter to learn the language and to share the cooking/culture/customs with us. We have had Chinese live-in nannies for over 20 years, but the current one needs to leave next year. So, we decided to pursue the au pair program. I'm Miharu (a Japanese) working for the United Nations in NYC. My husband John is an American, works for a bank. We have three children: Sean (a 23 yo son serving in Military); Erika (a 18 yo daughter, freshman in college) and Anna (a 13 yo daughter is the only one at home). Anna is a 8th grader, plays the violin in Stamford Youth Symphony, and also takes voice, tennis and Japanese lessons. She likes to read books, draw/print, and watch "youtube". If you do not speak English well, I can communicate with you in Japanese. You could even go take English classes at a nearby community center at very low cost while my daughter is at school. If you want to explore New York City, you could do so easily by taking a train for 45 min! Where we live is a small, beautiful and peaceful town, having 2 private beaches with tennis courts!
We would like her to do the following: 1. For our daughter - chauffeuring as required (to/from school, other activities) - preparing the meals (Japanese preferred) as required - laundry - speaking Japanese to her everyday - 2 to 3 hours Japanese tutoring/week (will instruct her what to do) 2. For a pet dog/pets and plants (indoor) - walking 2 times/day - feed dog/fish/turtles 2 times/day (doggy food) - give dog a bath once / month - water the plants every morning 3. For the family - light cleaning - light cooking (Japanese preferred) - light shopping Typical Daily Schedule: (8 working hours - 1-2 hours in the morning; 2-4 hours after school; 2-3 hours during the daytime) 6:30 - 7:30 : wake daughter up (if she is not up); prepare breakfast; drive her to school (5 min away) as required (she usually walks to school) 7:30 - 8:30 : walk the pet dog and feed other pets (fish and turtles); water plants 8:30 - 2:30 : laundry; cleaning; shopping; prep for dinner, etc as required; may go to English class, do sports, etc 2:30 - 6:00 : chauffeuring as required (for tennis, violin, voice lessons or for playdates, etc) 5:30 - 7:00 : dinner (including prep)
