We are a young international family: italian dad, lithuanian mom and a bilingual 5 year old kid Mykolas. He is very disciplined and sweet, but as most of boys is very active physically and has a need for sports. His English is in the basic level, but being bilingual he is very interested in languages. This year will be his last in kindergarten, so he will prepare for school allready. He allready tries reading and writing and we wish these activities not to be abandoned. In the family we mostly use Italian and Lithuanian languages, but some time ago used to speak only English, so we are fluent in it. Dad of Mykolas is away for work most of the time, but mom at this moment is only enaged with her studies, with irregular timetable. Grandparents also live/work not far away, to help, if needed. The day of Mykolas looks more or less like this: 8:40 he has to be at school, which is three steps from home 16:20 he has to be picked up from school and brought to play with friends or to other after school activity at 19:00 he should eat dinner and at 20:00 his dad comes home to play
First of all it is important to respect a child and to keep promises to him as well as to dedicate him your attention fully when you are with him. Then I truly believe, that every au-pair he meets, will give the best to a child by being herself and teaching the him things which she knows the best
