Young professional couple who work full-time are seeking someone who is genuinely interested in helping to take care of our son aged 7 (8 on 4th August). We also have a daughter aged 12 (13 on 19th February) but she will be travelling to and from school with me. My husband works in central London which requires fairly regular short trips abroad. I work as a teacher at a secondary school. Both of us need to leave the home by 7:30am and I am usually home by 5:30pm. We live in Crawley Down, West Sussex near to Gatwick Airport which is very green and suburban but you can get fast trains into Central London that take about 35 minute. We both drive and the Au Pair will have access to a car to take our son to school. Our daughter attends singing and drama classes. I would describe her as mature for her age, easy going and helpful. My son also swims and is an active, energetic and loving little boy. We have 1 dog, 2 very friendly cats, 1 rabbit and 4 chickens. You will have your own room with TV and SKY/Apple TV that will provide you with your own privacy (please see photos). However, we would also encourage you to spend time with us and become part of our family. Looking for the Au Pair to start on 1st September 2019.
The school term daily routine Monday to Friday would be to get up around 7:20am, give our son breakfast, help my son get dressed and take him to school for 8:55am. My son will need to be collected from school at 3:15pm and taken home and provided with a snack. On certain days, he may have an after school club which means that he wouldn't need to be collected until 4:00pm. He would need help with his homework and any remaining time should be used for creative play until I come home just after 5:30pm. We are looking for up to 5 hours of help per day (Monday - Friday) to include up to 3.5 hours of childcare. For the remaining 1.5 hours, we are looking for someone to walk the dog and do some tidying, cleaning and ironing. We are happy to discuss this with you and come to an agreement. I am a teacher, so I have 18 weeks school holidays a year, during this time you will have less to do and have opportunities to return home or travel, as I will be at home but we will pay you at the same rate. There maybe some days during school holidays where I may still be working at school and we will require full-time care of the children but this will be arranged in agreement with you. We would ask no more than up to 2 evenings a week babysitting, however this is likely to be more like one evening. We may ask if it is possible to do one of these evenings at the weekend. We have a car you could potentially use and would be happy to pay for fuel for short local journeys. We are looking to pay £100 per week for a maximum of 25 hours per week and up to 2 nights of babysitting per week. This would include all accommodation, bills, food and to insure you to use the car. The amount will be dependant on experience and age (the cost to insure you to drive the car will vary significantly by age). Obviously there would be opportunities to supplement your income with additional help round the house or by getting a job locally during weekdays while the children are at school or at the weekend.
