My husband and I have two children. John is 10 and Eleanor is 3 years. Both are very happy smiley children. We are a very relaxed friendly household every day is different here. We live in Surbiton in West London 20 minutes by train from the centre of london and 20 minutes walk along the river to kingston where there are lots of shops. We are close to lots of parks, playgrounds and cafes. Our son John is disabled. He is very happy. He walks using a walking frame or tricycles. He can sign a little and he has a communication book. He understands everything that you say to him. He goes to a special school. He loves swimming, playing the piano, horse riding and trains. Eleanor is a very determined little girl full of cheekiness and very smiley. She runs about pushing her pink push chair at every opportunity. She loves swimming and playing in the garden. She goes to toddler clubs with me or our au pair 3 mornings a week and nursery school one morning and two afternoons a week. My husband has a very demanding job which changes week to week. I am lawyer. I work from home and go out to see clients 2 or 3 times a month. The children, the au pair and I go to the Peto Institute in Hungary every spring for treatment for John. We stay 2 weeks. A Conductor trained by the Peto visits two to three times a year for one to two weeks. When the conductor comes the children, the au pair and I go to stay with my mother, a widow, in the country where there is more space. She keeps chickens and bees.
We only employ EU citizens We need someone who will help with the following looking after Eleanor while I work sharing with me taking and collecting John from school sharing with me massaging and exercising John on Saturdays and during the holidays (you will be given training) taking John or Eleanor swimming, on walks, tri cycle rides, to pottery, light housework ie ironing (we have a cleaner) a little cooking for example cooking the children's supper if I am out (do not worry if you cannot cook I can teach you) You will have two days off a week Sundays and a day that would suit you. You will not be asked to work more than 30 hours a week. My work is flexible which means if you need more time off for english classes I can work around it. In addition to your pay you will receive free gym membership at the local gym and swimming pool, four weeks paid holiday a year, return flights home once a year, and english classes. You will have your own room and will be one of the family sharing our meals and coming on holidays with us. This job would suit someone thinking of a career working with disabled children because there is any opportunity to volunteer at johns special school Treloars working along side physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and specials needs teachers.
