We are a young couple, with two children, twins, boy and girl. They are five years and a half. I am a youth worker in a town council youth center where I work with european volunteers in the EVS program. My husband is a helicopter pilot. We live in a semi detached house in a new residential neighborhood at the university campus, very close to the city center, with swimming pool and near sports facilities. Albacete is a medium sized town (175.000 citizens) with all amenities 2 hours far from Madrid or Valencia. A part from help with the kids, for us, it’s also important that we can improve our English, and you can improve your spanish, so we could arrange times to practice both languages. We also believe it is time for our children to start learning English. I have tried to teach them talking to them, with songs, playing, etc. but I have to admit I have no time or energy to do it properly.
We need an au pair for 7 weeks, end july to mid september, dates are flexible. 40 hours per week. Monday to friday: 8-15.40 h plus 4 more hours per week for babysitting. Most afternoons off and all weekends off. The au pair's main responsibility is to take care of the host family's children. The au pair is expected to play with and occupy the children. In addition, the au pair assists the family with light housework. The au pair will help kids with tidying up their bedroom and their toys. Washing the children's clothes and preparing simple meals are also part of the job. Light housework. I mean the following housework: Washing dishes / loading and unloading the dishwasher Cleaning, sweeping, dusting/ hoovering Doing the children's washing and putting it away Ironing (easy items of clothing) Making the children's beds Tidying the children's rooms Doing a little bit of shopping Looking after pet. I have a cat, any problem? Emptying the rubbish Obviously, the au pair is responsible for keeping their room and bathroom tidy. You must also clean up after using other rooms, for example the kitchen.
