I recently became a single parent due to poor life choices by the children's mother. She will not be in their life for a long while. I need a patient, caring individual to fill in the gaps left by their mother. My son is 26 months old, extremely bright, but is not potty trained yet nor can he annunciate his words clearly. He understands anything I say to him but was not interacted with enough and I believe is a step behind on speech. My daughter is 10 months old and is the most precious thing I've ever seen. She seems to have a better start than my eldest did; I really don't know how given the circumstances. The only preferences I have are that the care provider be fluent in English, preferably have some experience with children and who will interact with and teach my children, not simply babysit them.
I will be upfront and inform the reader that I work long shifts, beginning at 3PM and sometimes until early AM. I work in a railyard as a Switchman; when we have big shipments / deliveries, a twelve hour day is typical and sometimes it extends beyond that. I, being the ONLY Switchman, have to stay to complete movement of the cars. I expect from the care provider to provide basic duties around the house but first and foremost, attend to my children's needs I've addressed. I don't need a miracle worker, but just for someone to try and give them the attention they deserve.
