We are an Dutch family living in a house in Lelystad, a town 40 minutes from Amsterdam with train. As both Jeroen and I are working we need some help looking after our coming baby. The language in the family home is Dutch, English meaning we would be an ideal family for an au-pair looking to improve their English, Dutch, German language skills whilst living close to Amsterdam, Almere, Utrecht, Amersfoort, Zwolle, Utrecht and all are most international cities, where everyone speaks Dutch/English. We are looking for an au-pair who can stimulate the baby with fun ideas, be creative, sporty and get out and about with them as this is something neither of us feel we have enough time to do at present. The baby is expacted to be born in Noverber 2013. We are generally well behaved but we would expect the au-pair to play a positive role in bringing up properly and teaching them right from wrong. This means we are looking for someone who is mature, patient and really enjoys being with children. If you have a formal qualification (teaching or childcare) then this would be ideal, otherwise coming from a large family where you are used to looking after younger brothers or sisters would also be a benefit. Whilst we are not a very strict or formal family, au pairs wanting to party all night and sleep all day should not apply!
The role would involve helping us out at home as an additional adult in the house, helping get the baby ready for nursery in the morning and feeding them and helping us get them into bed in the evening. In addition to this, we would like you to pick our baby and look after him in the afternoons, , having friends of his over to play 1 or more days a week etc. A car is available so it would help if you can drive. housework (occasionally, doing the clothes washing etc.) and babysitting for us 1 night a week if we want to go out. This would be within reason and would not replace the cleaner who comes twice a week. We can offer good room (12m2) in a recently converted room complete with internet connection which would be entirely your own space - ideal if you plan to study whilst in the Netherlands. The bathroom is on the same second floor and is for your us only. A bicycle is also available for shopping.
