We are a family of five living in a small village in North Frisia, close to the beautiful harbor town of Husum. Our family includes our son (9 years), our daughter (3.5 years), and our youngest (9 months), who is just beginning to explore the world. We parents are both self-employed, and the dad travels a lot for work. Life with three children is colorful, lively, and sometimes a little busy. It’s important to me to have enough time, calm, and attention for each of our children – and that’s why we are looking for support. We would love to welcome an au pair who brings joy and heart into our family life: someone who plays with the children, is happy to run a few errands, and lends a helping hand in the household. A loving and respectful way of being with each other is very important to us – we live openly, warmly, and appreciatively as a family. What you can expect with us: You will receive 325 € pocket money per month and support us around 25-30 hours a week over five/sometimes six days. Your main tasks include childcare and some light household duties. You will have two free days per week – mostly at the weekend – and, of course, four weeks of vacation per year. To help you improve your German, we will cover the costs for your language course, including materials. You will have your own separate room in a small building on our property, with a private bathroom. Friends are welcome to visit you there. For mobility, you can use our bicycle and, when agreed, the car. We would love for you to be part of our family life, while also having plenty of space for yourself. We also appreciate it if you bring in your own ideas. If you would like to become part of our everyday life, we look forward to getting to know you! We are a family of five. • Lönne is 9 years old and in 3rd grade. He loves swimming, fishing, and playing board games. He enjoys being around people and exploring new places, but he also likes quiet time in his room listening to audio stories. • Helena, 3.5 years old, goes to kindergarten in the mornings and enjoys playdates in the afternoons. She loves riding and is always ready for fun once she feels safe and connected. She needs trust and close relationships to feel comfortable. • Linnea is our youngest and will turn 1 in January. She is still at home with me most of the time. I’m Angelina, the mom. At the moment I’m at home, caring for the children and our household. I trained as a physiotherapist and run my own business, but I’m currently taking time for family and planning to return to work step by step. I love dancing, and also enjoy moments just for myself. Marcel, the dad, is calm and easygoing. He is self-employed and works a lot. His biggest passion is fishing, which sometimes takes him away for a few days. We also share our home with two cats. We live in a quite big cozy country-style house in a village close to the town of Husum. Our Au Pair will have a private room with its own bathroom in a separate building next to our home. This space is also used for yoga courses, which you are welcome to join if you’d like. We enjoy spending time in our garden, where the children play often.
We hope to welcome a caring and cheerful Au Pair who enjoys spending time with children, playing with them, and supporting us with love and patience. It would mean a lot if you could also give a hand with daily household tasks and step in where help is needed. Your tasks might include: • Spending time with the children (playing, homework help, small outings) • Looking after our youngest while I run errands or work • Helping with pick-ups or drop-offs for playdates or hobbies • Occasionally being there in the evening while the children sleep so we can attend meetings or go out • Helping out with light cooking sometimes You will, of course, have your own free time and privacy. It’s important to us that you feel comfortable both with us and on your own. Flexibility, kindness, and a little German language would be helpful, as the children only speak German. • Our day starts around 6:00 a.m. Marcel leaves for work, and I take the children to school and kindergarten. • Mornings are usually for caring for Linnea, shopping, cooking, housework, and sometimes laptop work or sport. Having support during this time would be wonderful. • From midday until evening, I am home with the children: helping with homework, playdates, hobbies, preparing dinner, and keeping the house organized. Cleanliness and order are important to us. • In the evening, we usually eat together as a family, and you would be very welcome to join us. After dinner, we spend some time playing with the kids before bedtime. Weekends are a mix of calm and fun. Sometimes we keep things simple, like going out for ice cream or visiting the playground. The children also love spending time with their grandparents, who live nearby and are closely involved in our family life. In summer, we often go to the sea to swim, visit nearby islands, or enjoy nature. Lönne likes collecting amber on the coast, Marcel loves fishing trips with his boat, and I enjoy moments of quiet to write or work on creative projects. We would love our Au Pair to share some activities with us, but also to enjoy free time independently. We are happy to support you in finding hobbies or social opportunities.
