We are looking for an au pair from september 2022 In Milan (centre) we are a nice little family living in the center of Milan, my name is Stefania and my husband is called Alberto. We have two bright and sensible children: Sofia is 12 years old and Niccolò 6 years old. We are both freelance workers, so we usually organize ourselves to deal with our children as much as possible. I'm a a psychotherapist, Alberto is a hotel owner. We both work close to home. We are looking for a young girl over 20, native English speaker who loves children and wants to have an experience in Italy and to join our family and help with our children's care. Above all we want our children to grow up with a good knowledge of English. For four years we have been a family hosting au pairs amd we are looking for some one who can stay 12 month We are very active and we like to be outside, but we also love spending time at home together and with our friends. We live in a spacious and bright apartment on the sixth floor, in a quiet area of Milan, very close to the center, Navigli and near the fashion district of via Tortona. It is one of the most fascinating neighborhoods of this lively city, We do not have a spare room in our own home, and have therefore decided to offer the au pair a private single room with bathroom, in my hotel, a 10 minute walk from our house.
What we ask to our au pair ⁃ please do not smoke in front of the children, even if you are outdoors ⁃ please do not use your mobile phone while you are with children except for communication with us or for urgent communications ⁃ Always speak with the children in English, asking them to speak English in return - during your free time you can bring a friend to the hotel but the friend who visits must be registered at the reception and cannot stay the night for any reason What are the tasks of the au pair With the children: - look after them responsibly - play with them - help sofia with English homework Pick them up from school or kindergarten - accompany them to various afterschool activities - help them with small domestic tasks: dress them, wash them, keep the room tidy .... At home - fold the dry clothes - to empty the dishwasher - carry out small household chores that will be assigned to you from time to time. - keep the children's toys and room tidy -When we are not there & if you are in Milan during the weekend to take care of Dakota (the cat). Just to feed her. Working time Unlike the other au pairs, our au pair would in separate accommodation from our house. This ensures that you will have some free time to yourself . We think this is an advantage, but we ask our au pair to use her spare time responsibly, remembering that she is in Italy to have an experience with a family and in that family she has tasks and duties to maintain. Despite having your private room in the hotel you will be able to access the family home whenever you want, even in our absence (to eat meals for example). You can bring friends home only in our presence and you need to ask first. You can not smoke in the hotel nor in the house. For your personal laundry you can use the washing machine and dryer we have at home. Your room will be cleaned every other day by the hotel staff but you will have to commit yourself to keeping your room tidy. The au pair will have to take care of her duties from Monday to Friday from 2 to 9 pm. The mornings are free. Saturdays and Sundays are free. It may occur that a couple of times a month we will ask you to take care of the children for a few hours during the weekend. If the children are ill and they can’t go to school you would have to take care of them also during the morning, in agreement with us. You will be paid 70 euros each Friday. You will be able to travel or return home during the year of stay, but we would speak about this to agree with us in advance. Holidays with the Family It could happen that our family goes for a few days on vacation or for the weekend outside Milan. If you decide you wouldn’t like come with the family during these days, you will be free of your work commitments, but you will still be paid the same amount as always. We would ask you to take care of the cat during these days, giving her food and drink twice a day. In some cases, the au pair may be asked to come with us especially for stays lasting several days, in these cases the working hours may be different, but the weekly pay remains unchanged.
