Hi all, we are starting to consider hosting an au pair. We are a family of five. Mom, dad, five year old boy and twins boy and girl, who will be two by the time we welcome an au pair in our home. We have a cat and our au pair must love animals. Our daughter has developmental motor delays, and our ideal au pair has experience with special need children and has a background in PT, OT, speech or childhood education and is twenty four or older. We live in Larchmont, NY which is about thirty minutes from NYC. A beautiful little town surrounded by nature, but super connected with the big City. Our neighbors are wonderful and are always ready to help, so the au pair will not feel isolated. I am originally from Italy so I definitely understand the challenge of a new culture and new language. We consider ourselves very respectful and considerate of others and will try our best to make our au pair feel safe, valued and welcomed. During our free time we enjoy our family, take care of some chores and relax. I have to be honest, we are not a party family and we are not extremely adventurous either. We are looking preferably for an au pair from Germany, Austria, Finland, UK or Ireland. We are considering next spring summer to start, hopefully the pandemic will be over by then...This is our very first experience with an au pair, I hope to find a good match.
our au pair might be asked to drive, cook for the children and stay with them about forty hours per week. Our au pair must have good driving records. Our five year old will be in school most of the time.
