We are a couple of expats living in the Czech capital Prague since almost a decade. We speak predominantly English at home but with our kids also German and Hungarian dependent on the parent, rarely Czech. We work in tourism, IT, management and politics and do a fair bit of traveling as well. Our older daughter goes to a Czech kindergarten but speaks all 4 mentioned languages, the youngest member of our family is home for at least another 6 months. We are possibly a rather modern family, having lived with our kids in a flatshare until recently, we travel mostly by public transport. We are letting our kids do their own mistakes, get dirty and we try not to be overly careful. The reason we are looking for a Mandarin speaker is simply because we believe it'll be a very useful cultural awareness and language for us and our kids in the future. Also collecting experiences with au pair is important as we're considering to adopt another kid maybe in 2021.
Help with the kids is obvious. We would fix working hours in advance, do require one to two evenings per week additionally to the days we select and sometimes travel together. Schedule can be flexible to some extent. Additionally help with cooking, shopping and the easier things in the household is appreciated. We can provide a room either with us or in the same house. If you are interested you can also help with our tourism business, but this is absolutely optional.
