Personal introduction

We are a fun, active and friendly family of five. My name is Emma and my husband is Jonathan and we have three gorgeous children. Jonathan works full time as lawyer and I work part time, flexible hours as a physiotherapist. We are looking for a pro-active, caring, fun and responsible Au Pair to join our family and help to look after our children. We live in a detached house with a lovely garden in North London in an area called Finchley Central. We are ideally located with great transport links (tube and bus) into central London in approximately fifteen minutes. So it is ideal for exploring London in your free time. On our local high street (five minute walk) there are lots of shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and English schools. There are also plenty of parks and gyms near by. The Au Pair will have a large, double bedroom with wi fi, TV, cupboard, drawers, desk and make up table and they will share a bathroom with the children.

The Au pair's job

We have three wonderful children. Louis is six years old and attends school Monday - Friday. In September, Charlie (who is four years old) is starting the same school as Louis (Monday - Friday). Louis and Charlie love singing and dancing to music, playing sports, doing arts and crafts, baking and going to the park. Louis particularly likes gymnastics and Charlie loves Dinosaurs. Samuel is the baby and he has just started crawling so has lots of energy and likes to crawl around and play with his toys. We are looking for an Au Pair who can be flexible throughout the day and week and enjoys spending time with our children. Monday - Friday we are looking for an Au Pair to help get the children ready for school and nursery, help with breakfast time and with tidying up after breakfast. The Au Pair then has some free hours in the day before, on some days, picking up the children from school and nursery (it is located a fifteen minute walk away). When the Au Pair gets home, we ask that they play with the children, help with dinner and bath time and then help to tidy up at the end of the day. The hours are usually approximately three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon so there is plenty of time in the middle of the day to study English, explore London or just relax. There will be short periods of time where the Au Pair will be left with the baby so we are looking for someone who is confident to look after babies, change nappies etc. Our area has a great Au Pair network and we are happy to put you in contact with local Au Pairs. The closest English school to our house is a ten minute walk and there are lots of others nearby. We are looking for someone who is proactive, friendly, caring and kind and who has experience with children and is totally confident to hit the ground running on arrival. Most importantly we would like to find someone who genuinely loves children. We would like the Au Pair to have an adequate level of English so that they can communicate with the children but we are happy if you are not fluent and we can help you improve. We also require the Au Pair to have good references who they are happy for us to contact.
