A family of two kids, a boy seven yo in august and a girl five yo. Gilles works from home but travels very often. I work ten min from home but until late so I would like someone at home to help me and to take care of the kids. Our son likes being outside, hiking or walking in the forest... Our daughter is more artistic, she likes drawing, painting... although she loves outside activities like going to the parc, play in the swimming pool... They both go to a bilingual school so can understand english already. They start talking some of it. We would like them to improve with the au pair. The kids are really differents. Our daughter is independent, secured and ready to discover the world. She is an easy kid. Our son is extremely sensible and quickly scared of new things or new people... He needs his routine. He requires daily a lot a patience. We live in Grasse, the international capital of perfume. Our house is in the countryside of the town, fifteen min walking distance from the city center. We are connected to the other cities like Cannes or Nice by train or bus easily. We have a big house with a garden and a swimming pool. The au Pair will have her own bedroom and bathroom. Both kids spend all day long at school until five pm. They have the Wednesday free and we try to be outside as much as possible. we don't want them to spend time in front of the TV or tablets. There is so much to discover outside. During the weekends we try to go outside, at the parc at least, they love riding their bike, or walks near Mother Nature. Wednesday is the day when the au pair could interact the most with kids. the au pair could do activities with us if she wants during the weekend as well. During the week days, the kids finish school at almost five pm, so back at home they can play a moment. It's bath time around six pm, and diner for them around six and a half. Gilles and I don't often eat diner but we are always sit all around the table for diner. It's a moment for discussion...we expect the au pair to be with us at that time at least most of the time. At eight pm, they go to bed after the story time.
As mentioned above, our daughter is quite easy. Our son, because of his sensible temper, needs to be handled very gently. For example, he is afraid if someone speaks too loud... He is an unsecured kids who needs to be reassured and motived a lot. The au pair will need to be very patient and be able to stay calm in all circonstances. So we need someone who is no stressed in general and that is able to communicate at lot and calmly. But also energetic to be able to follow the kids in their activities. During the weeks day, the au pair will have to pick them at school, the school is twenty min away from home, and to take care of them after school, so play with them, be there for their bath time. They bath themselves alone now so be present if needed, prepare some meals and if possible help our son with his homework. From time to time read them a story for bedtime. During the day when the kids are not at home, she will have some simple tasks in the house like cleaning her own bedroom and bathroom. Help me keep clean the house like tiying up kids toys, they do that but not as well as us, cleaning their room, take care of their clothes, and participate to the every day tasks in a house with us like empty dishwasher, set up table... There will be sometimes one or two time per month, some baby-sitting. The Wednesday, the kids might have some activities, so the au pair will spend the day with the kids, playing with them, driving them to the activities if needed, or to the parc, or playing in the swimming pool... The au pair will have a car to pick up the kids at school and drive them when needed. She must be able to drive correctly manual car. We are around ten min away walking from the main bus station and the train station. The first bus stop is just few minutes away.
