We are an international family with two children, Leo aged eight and Evie aged five. We are very open, friendly and easy going and we have already had four au pairs who loved being part of our family and enjoyed living with us here in London. We live in a very nice part of London (Ealing), near many shops, parks and things to do. There are also excellent transport links around the local area and into the West End and centre of London. Our children are at school every day from around eight in the morning until four in the afternoon, so you will have lots of free time for courses, exploring London, meeting friends, or to take up a temporary job. Our other au pairs have attended an excellent local English school and have had various jobs including working in restaurants, baby sitting, working in one of the local nurseries and a park cafe. Your evenings and weekends are generally free.
The children go to separate schools at around eight each day and it is possible to walk there or to take a local bus. Everything is very organised and our son does most things for himself, so in the morning it would just be to help our younger daughter with getting ready, to prepare a simple breakfast and that's about all. After picking up from school (again via walking or bus) at around four in the afternoon, help with homework, cook an evening meal (which is already pre-prepared, unless you wish to cook from scratch), play games and keep them company until we are back from work nearby. We would usually be home by around seven in the evening. There is nothing to do after this or during the weekends, so this is free time for you to do as you wish. There is no housework or cleaning required other than your own room and loading a dishwasher and so on. You would have your own private room on the top floor of our house, with a TV (with Netflix of course) and we include gym membership also.
