We are a young family looking for a friendly au pair to help us with our son. I am American and my husband is French, so you will be living in a multi-cultural household with our 4 month old son, Leo (born in June). We are looking for a caring and patient au pair who is comfortable looking after an infant during the day. He is very energetic and loves to be entertained, so we need someone who does not mind being around him a lot of the time. There will of course be nap times where you can take a break for yourself, but otherwise he will need lots of attention. We live in a very cute, quiet village outside of Paris. We are close to Versailles and Saint-Germain-en-Laye. It takes 30 minutes by car or 45 minutes by train (Line L) to get into the center of the city. Since we are in the suburbs we have a nice, big house to welcome you - you will actually have your own floor! You will have a separate living space, big bedroom, and separate WC/bathroom for yourself. Better than a Parisian closet if you do not mind being out in the countryside :) Our house is also in a residency with a pool, tennis courts, and clubhouse with classes like Zumba, Yoga, etc. that you will have access to. There is a beautiful forest nearby for bike rides and walks/hikes if that interests you as well. We are both very friendly people and would love for you to become part of our family while you are with us. You are always free to have dinner with us and hang out with us whenever you want, or enjoy your personal space as you please.
We need an au pair who is willing to work longer hours over a shorter period of time. You will be responsible for keeping Leo all throughout the day for 3 days per week, sometimes 4. You will very rarely have to work on weekends, so you will have plenty of free time to enjoy Paris. My husband and I work full time and our schedules change sometimes because of travel we have to do for work. I am regularly in the office for 4 days per week from 8h00 - 18h00 (at the latest). I am able to work from home one day per week. My husband's schedule is not as structured so he will sometimes be at the house for 2-3 days per week working from home, sometimes less if he is travelling. Since our work schedules change a bit it would be great if you can be flexible (to an extent) on the schedule we would need you for. Of course when you sign up for your French language courses those will always be the priority, but after that it would be nice if you are open to a flexible work schedule during the week. We are looking for someone to start in November - December 2018 and stay with us until August 2019.
