PLEASE NOTE: We can only consider applications from EU-citizens! Thank you. Dear Au-Pair! We are a Swiss/German family, with two lovely girls aged 4 and 2 and a little boy who is 5 months old. At home, we speak German (me) and French (my husband). We are joyful, spontaneous and warm, with a good sense of humor. We are searching a loving, responsible, proactive Au-Pair as of August / Sept 2019, who is looking for an opportunity to learn German, live in another family and culture, discover Zurich and Switzerland and grow as a person whilst helping out in our daily family life. We would favour a French speaking Au-Pair to expose our girls to the French language and culture (comptines etc.). We live in Zollikon (10 min by bus from Zurich city center and 15 walking minutes from the beautiful lake of Zurich), in a nice apartment with garden and view of the lake. I am mostly at home with the kids, where I have my little atelier to make hats and fascinators, my husband works full time as a lawyer. The girls go Kindergarden or playgroups several times a week whereas the baby will be at home all the time. When my kids are at home, I enjoy reading books with them, playing, singing, dancing, going for walks in all kinds of weather, playing in the garden or simply let them play by themselves.
In the first place, we expect our Au-Pair to help out with the kids: play/sing/do handicrafts with them, take them for walks in all kinds of weather, look after the baby, eat early dinner with the kids (and me), every now and then prepare a dish, and get them ready for bed. While we have a cleaning lady, we also expect our Au-Pair to help us with basic household tasks such as setting the table, emptying the dishwasher, tidying up the girls' room (with the help of the girls) or folding the childrens' clothes - like an older sibling would do. I truly appreciate proactive persons who don't hesitate to ask and communicate openly. Even though I am at home most of the time, I would like to establish a routine with the kids, while maintaining a certain flexibility. Key moments where I will require help will certainly be mornings and early dinnertime or situations where I need to take or pick up one or another child from a playgroup and don't want to take all kids along. The Au-Pair will work 30h/week, Sundays (or weekends) are free. We provide/pay for: - Salary CHF 700 per month - Health insurance - Language course - 50% reduction card for all trains in Switzerland - Bicycle to go into town/ to the lake etc. or bus tickets - Swiss mobile phone The contract will be a Swiss Au Pair contract. We will of course make sure that our Au-Pair can attend her language classes and have enough free time to study and discover Zurich. Zurich is an international and lively city with many students. It has a beautiful lake with many swimming places and is close to the mountains with several ski areas. Our current Au Pair is active with the Scoutes d'Europe, which gives her a nice group of friends. We go to Munich to see my parents a few times a year and like to spend several weekends or holidays in our chalet in the mountains; the Au-Pair is invited to join us! Besides helping with the kids, these are great opportunities to discover another city and go hiking or skiing.
