We are a fun-loving, easy-going and creative family. Our two lovely girls are Nancy (4 years old) and Penny (2 years old). Nancy will be starting school in September. Fabio (38) is film-editor and Claire (37) works for the government. We sometimes go in to London for our work, sometimes we work at home. We love food and socialising with friends and family. We love being outside in the garden or at the park or snuggled up on the sofa watching films. Fabio’s mother is Sicilian although unfortunately we do not speak Italian. We are looking for a warm, friendly and creative au-pair to join our family, we hope you will be a good listener and have a kind temperament. We live in an historic area called Carshalton, it is in the suburbs of London. You can get in to central London on the train in 28 minutes from Carshalton Station. Sutton is a big town which is 15 minutes walk from our house, or 5 minutes on the bus. In Sutton there are many high street shops, restaurants, a library and a cinema. Sutton College also provides English Language Courses. We have a large Victorian house which has 5 bedrooms, the au pairs room is on a floor alone which means once dinner is over you will have the floor to yourself and you will not be bothered by anyone (unless you would like some company of course). The room has a desk, bay window, fireplace, sofa, wardrobe and bed. At the moment we do all the childcare ourselves as Fabio works evening shifts and Claire works at home, but now that Nancy is going to school and Claire needs to work in London more we need a little help looking after Penny and getting Nancy to school. Both of our mothers live close by; they will each continue to look after the children one day a week. We eat an evening meal together as a family whenever this is possible, we both love to cook and we hope that our au pair will be a good cook too.
We need an au pair to: - get the children ready in the morning and take Nancy to school and Penny to a playgroup or park (3-4 hours), this will be 4 times a week. - Look after both girls 3.30pm – 6.30pm including making their dinner, 2 or 3 times a week - A few hours a week of light housework (washing clothes, drying clothes, tidying toys, loading and unloading dishwasher) - Two nights a week babysitting approx. 8pm – 11pm. - You will have 2 or 3 days off a week. We think that this would be around 30 hours a week, but we can negotiate this. Some weeks (if our mothers are on holiday or if Fabio has many meetings) we may need more help, up to 40 hours a week but we will increase your pocket money of course. The rest of the time you have we hope you will focus on studying. Claire would be willing to give you her time an hour a week to help you study, she has experience in teaching young children and has studied languages to A-level. If you would like to become a member of our family we are warm and generous people and would welcome you with open arms, equally if you would rather have space from us in the evenings you will have your own area to enjoy you freedom.
