We have two children, Renee is 15 and Theo is 7 years old. Renee goes to boarding school during the week, but comes home for the weekends. Her interests are cooking, horses and social media! She is very mature and responsible for her age and requires very little 'looking after'. Theo who is 7 years old, goes to school about a 20 minutes drive away. He is very energetic and loves going on adventures in the park or the woods, he loves playing with lego and on his x-box. He's a big Harry Potter fan and loves to make potions. His has a very lively imagination and enjoys painting and drawing. My husband is a professional musician and is away some of the time. When he isn't touring, he is based at a studio a few miles away, but we currently have plans to build a studio at home. I work 3 full days a week as the Finance Manager for a Kitchen Design company. We all have very active social lives. We have an 8 year old dog, Sassy who is a Hungarian Vizsla and we keep chickens in the garden! We live in a small village on the border of Essex and Suffolk. We are approx 45 minutes from Stansted Airport, 25 minutes from Colchester and Bury St Edmunds. London is around a 2 hour drive and Cambridge is around an hour in the car. Our local town is Sudbury, which is a 5 minute drive away. There is a train station in Sudbury which can get you to London, Colchester or Cambridge (Not a direct line). Everyday life with my children is relatively simple. (If my husband is home). Renee goes to school on a Sunday night or a Monday morning and stays at school until a Wednesday evening, when I bring her home for the night. I take her back on a Thursday morning and then collect her again on a Friday or Saturday. Theo has to be at school on a Monday from 8.30am until either 3.45 or 4.45pm, depending on whether he has an after school club. I take him to a swimming club after school on a Tuesday. He does have a cooked lunch at school, but I will cook him a dinner in the evening, just in case he didn't eat very well at school. The weekends are usually spent driving my children to one event or another. Birthday parties, Renee's shopping expeditions or her meeting up with friends.
It is important that you are able to drive and we will provide you with a car and petrol money. We will also book you a few driving lessons in the UK, so you are confident on driving in the UK. You will have two full days off to relax, study or explore the country. These days will be flexible, depending on what is going on in the family. You will have most evenings to yourself, but some babysitting will be required and on some occasions we will ask you to babysit overnight, if either my husband or I are away. When the children are at school, most of the day is free for you. But I would ask that you tidy their bedrooms and if necessary put a load of washing on. This would help me out greatly. I will also ask that on some evenings when I have to work, that you take Theo to school and collect him, and then make him dinner. I'm usually home for bath/shower time, but when I'm not I would ask that you help me out with this. We live in a house which has 3 floors. Your bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, a sitting room and a kitchenette, which is on the top floor. It will have a TV, WiFi and everything you need to enjoy your own space, when you need it. We will happily help arrange and pay towards a language school, should you wish to attend.
