Hi there, we have recently moved back to Canada after spending the last eight years in Australia, Hong Kong and most recently Austria. I am an airline pilot and my wife runs her own interior design firm and e-commerce business. Our son is 15 months old and although every parent must say this, he is a very happy, very entertaining baby. He loves to be outdoors which is convenient considering we live in a beautiful small town on Vancouver Island. We are looking for someone who will treat our family as they would their own. We want our au pair to feel comfortable in our house and be confident looking after our kleiner. We would prefer a German speaker as he has been around the language his whole life and we'd like him to be able to speak it later in life. This comes secondary to a positive, high energy person.
This position will be mostly looking after our son, keeping him busy and happy with trips to the beaches, forests and to the pools and children groups in the area. As I am away for work for about 10-14 days spread through the month, the working hours will be more while I am away and less while I am home. We live in an easy-going home and would like someone to be a self started, doing light cleaning when needed and generally making things easier and happier in our home. We live in a beautiful part of the world, anyone even remotely interested in nature will love it here. Our home has enough space to provide privacy for both of us.
