Hello! My name is Salima. I'm currently an aupair living with Kathy (my "host" mom) and my "host" dad and my two "host" sisters. I'm currently looking for someone, a caring, loving, smart, patient, respectuous sister to replace me. I'm leaving on 13 of October because of a family emergency and need to go back home. After one year with my Chinese family, I'm leaving with a heavy heart. Kathryn is a smart, generous, pain in the ass, my little pigou (pigou means "butt" in Chinese) joyful girl. She loves cars and dinosors. She will tell you that her "brain is tired" when you are gonna want to study with her on books. But if you do it right, you will find the best of yourself on Kathryn. Charlotte is a loving, sensitive girl. She is adorable and most of all, when I sing Edith Piaf "la vie en rose" she cries. She likes ducks and milk! They are both foodies btw! We also used to go a lot skiing, we went to France, Japan, Thailand, Hong-Kong. So I'd say we kinda travel a lot. It's always a lot of fun.! My "Host" parents are just like my parents. I've been so blessed being with them all this time. They think of me as there own and that changes everything. I deeply love them all and this is why I don't want to let them down and leaving without making sure that the next aupair, will be just right. They are open minded (religiously speaking they do practice buddhism but I am muslim and my relationship with them proves that loves knows no boundaries), my "host" parents are crazy about health, they are funny, caring, adorable, love to have fun with their kids (and me too).
So for me, from Monday to Friday(thursday and friday morning was my day off, and one weekend per month that i actually never took) I would start at 3 pm, picking up Kathryn with my mom. She would play at her school, and i would look after her, play with her and her friends. Then at home, i would try to get Kathryn to study but if she refuses totally to write or read, then communication it is! Play-roll, games, she learns even when we play. After diner I would take Kathryn's bath, read a bed time story and most of the time Dad and mom put her in bed. Tho I was supposed to start teaching Charlotte, more like communication, playing, since she doesn't speaks yet. It's just that scientist said from the age of 2 years and 8 month, kids are more able to speak two languages if they hears it enough. But as I'm leaving, we didn't really started. About the schedule time, it should be seen with my host mom when you come. Then on weekends it would be from 9 am until 8/9pm. But Kathryn has dance class, horse riding, HS performance clubs so it would just be more like "a family member staying there in case anything happen". But everything is flexible during weekends. About the housework, you only need to clean your room and wash your own clothes. My host family have two ayies (maids) One takes care of the food and cleaning and the other one takes care of Charlotte.
