I am Jess (40) and my husband is Marcus (55), we have 3 children, George(12), Ruby (6) and Harry (4). We live in between the beautiful Lyme Regis on the south coast and Axminster, approx 2 miles from each. We live a few miles away from the Jurassic coast which is an area of outstanding natural beauty with lots to do and see and it is a lovely place to live. We have kayaks and bikes that you are welcome to use. We are rural but only a few minutes drive from Lyme Regis and Axminster. There are good train links from Axminster to Exeter, Taunton and London. I work full time and Marcus works away over the winter so he wouldn't be at home during your stay. We are looking for an au pair to help take the strain of day to day family life whilst Marcus is away. We have a 4 bed roomed house in an area called Raymond's hill. They are all lovely children, very energetic and happy with no special requirements. If you like cooking that would be great. They all sleep well at night. Experience with young children is a bonus. The hours worked will generally be 7-8.30am then 4-7pm with the children and the cooking/household tasks can be done around your schedule. I do ask that you are prepared to be flexible to suit us both. Your normal free days would be Saturday and Sunday. There would be a couple of evenings babysitting. We have unlimited wifi at our home and you would have an ensuite bedroom
Everyday is different but daily tasks with the children could include getting them up and dressed and given breakfast and preparing packed lunches. They are all at school in the daytime. They all get a bus to school, the little ones are picked up from the house at 8.30 then returned at 4 pm. George my eldest gets himself to the bus stop and himself home. Then after school we tend to chat, play and do homework. They all like a snack when they get in from school. We have a nice healthy dinner at about 5/6pm. Then it's bath and bed time with a story. I try to only work school hours but on occasion need to be out of the house before they leave and don't return until after they are home. Early mornings are typically twice a week. Late evenings could be twice a week. A couple of times a month I need to leave the house before they wake and come back after they are in bed. Ideally I would like someone to keep on top of the washing, keep the house clean and tidy, general cleaning and tidying, making and changing beds and ironing, cooking and childcare duties.
